Airwick - All about the brand

Air Wick is an air freshener produced by Reckitt Benckiser. It was first launched in 1943 in the United States and is now sold worldwide.

Ajax - All about the brand

Ajax is a brand of cleaning products, introduced by Colgate-Palmolive in 1947 for a powdered household and industrial cleaner. It was one of the company's first major brands. The ingredients of its scouring cleanser product include sodium dodecylbenzenesulfonate, sodium carbonate, and quartz.

Bostik is an international adhesives company, a subsidiary of the French oil and gas company Total S.A., head-quartered at Paris. The company was created as Bostik Findley in 2001 after the merger of Bostik and Ato Findley, following the merger of their parent companies, Total Fina and Elf Aquitaine.

Brillo Pad - All about the brand

Brillo Pad is a trade name for a scouring pad, used for cleaning dishes, and made from steel wool impregnated with soap. The concept was patented in 1913. The company's website states the name Brillo is from the Latin word for 'bright', though no such word exists in Latin; however, German, Italian, French, Spanish and English do have words for 'shine' or 'bright' beginning with brill-.

Comfort is the brand name of a Unilever fabric softener sold in the UK and around the world. The range includes Comfort Pure (for delicate skin) and Comfort Creme (a premium brand). Glade is an S. C. Johnson & Son brand of household air fresheners that were first introduced in 1956. The family of products include: Aerosol Sprays, Candles, Car Scented Oil, Carpet & Room, Glass Scents, PlugIns, PlugIns Scented Oil, Press'n Fresh, Secrets, Scented Oil Candles, and Wisp. Glade is a worldwide brand, known variously around the world as Glade, Gleid, Brise (Germany), etc. Brise was renamed in Glade in Germany in 2012.

Lysol - All about the brand

Lysol is a brand name of cleaning and disinfecting products distributed by Reckitt Benckiser. The line includes solutions for hard and soft surfaces, air treatment, and hand washing. The active ingredient in many of the Lysol products is benzalkonium chloride. The active ingredient in the Lysol Power and Free line is hydrogen peroxide.

Mortein - All about the brand

Mortein is an Australian brand of household insecticide owned by Reckitt Benckiser. Together with its sister product Aerogard, a popular insect repellent, Mortein has become something of a household name in Australia, owing much in this regard to its cartoon antagonist, Louie the Fly in the advertisements. Louie was drawn and animated by Geoffry Morgan Pike and made his first appearance on Australian TV in 1957. In a jingle created by Bryce Courtenay it was used in animated TV commercials since 1962, he proudly sings of his own dirtiness, claiming to be afraid of no-one except "the man with the can of Mortein."

Mr Muscle is a brand of hard surface cleaners. It has been manufactured by S. C. Johnson & Son, since their purchase of Drackett from Bristol-Myers in 1992. The original product - an aerosol oven cleaner - was developed at Drackett in 1986. The Mr. Muscle product lineup has since expanded.

In the United States the Surf product line is owned by Sun Products. The brand Omo was used when it was introduced in Australia and New Zealand but in Australia and South Africa, Surf as well as Omo are sold and they are both top- selling laundry detergents in Australia. Surf was introduced in 1959 after Rinso, formerly Lever's best selling detergent brand, had declined in both sales and market share. Pledge is a cleaning product made by S. C. Johnson & Son. It is used to help dust and clean. In other countries it is known as Pronto, Pliz, and Blem.

Raid is the brand name of a line of insecticides produced by S. C. Johnson, first launched in 1956. The initial active ingredient was the first synthetic pyrethroid, allethrin. Raid derivatives aimed at particular invertebrate species can contain other active agents such as the more toxic cyfluthrin, another synthetic pyrethroid. Currently Raid uses, Tetramethrin, Cypermethrin and Imiprothrin to kill insects. Raid Flying Insect Killer, a spray, uses Prallethrin and D-Phenothrin.

S.C. Johnson & Son (commonly referred to as S. C. Johnson and S.C. Johnson, A Family Company in its commercials), previously known as S. C. Johnson Wax (and earlier, Johnson Wax), is an American privately held, global manufacturer of household cleaning supplies and other consumer chemicals based in Racine, Wisconsin. It has operations in 72 countries and its brands are sold in over 110. It is the largest component of the Johnson Family Enterprises, which also includes the Johnson Financial Group, and Johnson Outdoors. In 2006, S. C. Johnson & Son employed approximately 12,000 and had estimated sales of $7.5 billion.

Scotch-Brite - All about the brand

Scotch-Brite is a line of abrasive cleaning pads produced by 3M. The original product line consisted of spun polypropylene fiber with about nine grit variations. Scotch-Brite also contains "Alox", which is a trade name for aluminum oxide.

Scotchgaurd - All about the brand

Scotchgard is a 3M brand of products, a stain repellent and durable water repellent applied to fabric, furniture, and carpets to protect them from stains.

Shake n' Vac - All about the brand

Glade Shake n' Vac is a powdered carpet freshener. The powder is shaken onto the carpet before vacuuming. It is currently marketed and sold in the United Kingdom by S. C. Johnson & Son. The product became well known due to its famous television commercial during the 1980s, with the advertisement being voted as one of the most popular TV advertisements in Britain.

Sunlight Dishwashing Liquid - All about the brand

In 1971, the company rebranded its Sunlight washing-up liquid in the UK. The new packaging for Sunlight Lemon Liquid had a large picture of a lemon, and only featured the words "washing up liquid" in small letters. There were complaints that children might mistake the product for lemon squash and drink it. The matter was even discussed in the House of Lords. The company responded by changing its packaging. In South Africa, the brand is used for bath soap, dishwashing liquid, washing powder and fabric conditioner.

Sunlight is a brand of household soap originally produced by the British company Lever Brothers in 1884. It was the world's first packaged, branded laundry soap. Designed for washing clothes and general household use, the success of the product led to the name for the company's village for its workers, Port Sunlight. The soap formula was invented by a Bolton chemist named William Hough Watson, who also became an early business partner.

Toilet Duck - All about the brand

Toilet Duck is a brand name toilet cleaner noted for the duck-shape of its bottle, so shaped to assist in dispensing the cleaner under the rim. The design was patented in the 1980s by Walter During from Dallikon, Switzerland. It is now produced by S. C. Johnson & Son.

It is the world's third-largest consumer goods company measured by 2011 revenues (after Procter & Gamble and Nestlé) and the world's largest manufacturer of ice cream. Vanish - All about the brand

In the USA, Vanish is a brand of toilet bowl cleaner manufactured by S.C. Johnson. They obtained the brand through the purchase of The Drackett Company in 1992. Drackett purchased the product from inventor Judson Dunaway. Vanish is now sold in the USA under the Scrubbing Bubbles Vanish Continuous Clean Drop-Ins brand name.

Vim - All about the brand

Vim scouring powder, one of the first products created by William Lever, first appeared on the market in 1904, an offshoot of Monkey Brand scouring soap. The name is thought to derive from the colloquial English word "vim" which has the same meaning as the Latin vis, vim ("force", "vigour").

Windolene / Windex - All about the brand

Windex is a glass and hard-surface cleaner manufactured since 1933. S. C. Johnson acquired Windex in 1993 and has been manufacturing it since. The product was reformulated in 2006.

Woolite - All about the brand

Woolite is a brand of laundry detergent owned by Reckitt Benckiser (who had purchased it when it bought Boyle-Midway from American Home Products in 1990). It manufactures laundry accessories. Bissell Inc., under license from Reckitt Benckiser, manufactures Woolite carpet cleaning (which Bissell had bought in 2004 from Playtex).
