ALL ABOUT WHITE LINEN
Brought to You by Romatex Bedding and Linen Factory Shop

White linen: The perfect choice for a timeless look.

Have you ever wondered why most hotels, lodges and BnBs opt for white bed linen and towels? The hospitality sector relies on creating luxurious and relaxing settings for guests. One of the key elements in achieving this is the choice of linen – white linen, in particular. It’s a timeless look and for good reasons.

Romatex is a leading manufacturer and supplier of textiles and linen in South Africa, including duvets, mattress protectors, pillowcases and replenishment lines (RPLs) for the hospitality and retail sectors. We pride ourselves on our manufacturing quality and supply chain reliability.

THE TIMELESS ELEGANCE OF WHITE LINEN

One of the main reasons why hotels and lodges opt for white linen is its elegance and cleanliness. White linen looks fresh and any dirt or stains are easy to spot – which is vital in a hospitality setting. It creates a crisp, clean and comfortable feel in rooms around the world, which is more appealing to the majority of travellers.

Some people may prefer a bold, colourful and vibrant look when it comes to bedding and linen, but white is more versatile and timeless. Its pure simplicity allows it to seamlessly blend in with any interior design style, whether it’s classic and chic or contemporary and bright. Hotels, lodges and BnBs can update their décor without having to replace their white linen.

WHITE LINEN IS EASY TO MAINTAIN

There is also a practical consideration to choosing white linen; stain removal and maintenance. These sheets, pillowcases and towels can be bleached and washed at high temperatures to ensure that all stains and bacteria are effectively removed. This guarantees the hygiene of the linen and also contributes to the overall appearance and experience for customers.

While darker colours may hide stains, they often need to be washed at colder temperatures and with more gentle detergents to prevent the colour from running. The fact that white will show any stains or dirt can be reassuring for patrons when they see crisp bedsheets and spotless towels.

SIGNIFYING LUXURY FOR THE GUEST

White linen has become synonymous with high-end establishments and luxury accommodation. Major hotels and boutique resorts use white linen to create a sense of opulence for their guests. After all, the guest experience is the number one factor that determines return visitors.

The cleanliness of the linen contributes to a more comfortable and relaxing stay. In addition, the softness and comfort of high-quality white linens can contribute to a better night’s sleep and ensure that guests feel rejuvenated after their stay.

ROMATEX WHITE LINEN

We supply white linen and RPLs to hospitality companies and retailers throughout South Africa. Our customers can visit our factory in Cape Town to get a better understanding of our processes and the quality of our products. We supply in bulk or smaller quantities through our hospitality shop on our premises or through our e-commerce store, Room Service.

White linen is a timeless look for hotels and lodges due to its elegance, versatility, ease of maintenance, association with luxury and contribution to an enhanced guest experience. By choosing white linen, hotels and lodges can create a sophisticated and inviting atmosphere that appeals to guests and ensures their comfort throughout their stay. ALL ABOUT THREAD COUNT
Brought to You by Romatex Bedding and Linen Factory Shop

Thread count refers to the number of threads woven into one square inch of fabric. It is an essential factor to consider when choosing bed linen as it directly affects the quality and comfort of the fabric. Generally, a higher thread count indicates a finer and smoother fabric.

Romatex manufactures 200-thread count bed linen, which is considered high-quality and provides a luxurious feel. However, it’s important to note that the optimal thread count for comfort may vary depending on personal preference.

ALL ABOUT STITCH BOND
Stitch-bonded non-woven material: from plastic bottles to fabric

Romatex is a leading manufacturer and supplier of stitch-bonded non-woven material in South Africa. This sustainable textile is manufactured from recycled polyethylene terephthalate (rPET) plastic, which is most commonly used to produce plastic bottles.

There are many end uses for stitch-bonded non-woven material, including shopping bags, waterproofing membranes, vertical blinds, home textiles, footwear, eco-blocks for housing construction, home textiles and bags.

The colour of the material is determined by the rPET used; beige material comes from ginger beer bottles, green material comes from lemonade bottles and white material comes from clear plastic bottles. Romatex also offers custom dyeing and printing services for customers that purchase stitch-bonded non-woven material.

We have the capacity to manufacture two million square metres of this material every month, which is enough to eradicate around 54 million plastic bottles from landfills. This sustainable textile is hugely beneficial for the economy and the environment. It is an ideal product for rPET and sustains South Africa’s recycling industry.

HOW IS STITCH-BONDED NON-WOVEN MATERIAL MADE?

Stitch-bonding is a process whereby the fibres of the material are bonded together by stitching them with a continuous filament. This creates a series of loops that hold the fibres together. The fibres are made from rPET, which begins its life as plastic bottles and other PET products.

This plastic is collected by recyclers and informal waste collectors from landfills across the country. The plastic bottles are sold to recycling facilities, which wash, dry and separate the plastic by colour. They do this so that the rPET has a uniform colour at the end of the process; if all colours were recycled together, then the end product would not be as appealing.

The plastics are pelletised by the recycling facility and sold to various companies. For stitch-bonded non-woven material, these pellets are then extruded into the thin fibres used to create the bulk of the textile. These fibres are stitched together with a polyester filament by Romatex. It is a 100% local product; nothing is imported.

ROMATEX PRODUCES VARIOUS TEXTILES

We are able to produce stitch-bonded non-woven material in various widths and weights, depending on the needs of the customer. The majority of this material is used to manufacture recycled shopping bags for large South African retailers, but some of it is also sold to other end users.

Our dyeing and printing services enable us to create bespoke logos and labels for the material. These materials are important for minimising the environmental impact of plastics and contribute to the local employment sector and economy. It supports numerous business and informal jobs along the entire supply chain. For more information on our various products and textiles, please contact us today.

Romatex has been a leading manufacturer and supplier of stitch-bonded non-woven materials and homeware for over 50 years. Romatex is a Level 2 B-BBEE company that is owned by Deneb Investments Limited, a subsidiary of Hosken Consolidated Investments (HCI), which is listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE).

USES FOR STITCH-BONDED NON-WOVEN MATERIAL

Stitch-bonded non-woven material is made from recycled plastic bottles (called rPET). Romatex is a leading manufacturer and supplier of this sustainable textile in South Africa. We produce around two million square metres of stitch-bonded non-woven material every month, which is sold as fabric to various companies.

The colours of the material depend on the colour of the recycled plastic bottles. For example, our beige material gets its colour from ginger beer bottles, whereas our green material comes from recycled lemonade bottles. White stitch-bonded non-woven material is made from clear plastics, such as water and cola bottles.

We offer bespoke dyeing and printing services too, so our textiles can be dyed or printed with labels and logos on behalf of our customers. Unlike woven fabrics, stitch-bonded non-woven material is held together by a continuous thread of polymer twine. Since it is manufactured from plastic fibres, this textile has certain properties that are better suited to some products and uses.

WHAT IS STITCH-BONDED NON-WOVEN MATERIAL USED FOR?

There are many applications for this sustainable textile. The current range of markets that Romatex supplies include recycled shopping bags, waterproof membranes, home textiles, footwear, furniture, vertical window blinds and more. These products all contribute to the sustainable cycle of reused plastic, which helps to minimise plastic waste in our landfills and environment.

Recycled shopping bags – One of the main uses for stitch-bonded non-woven material is recycled shopping bags. Many South African retailers offer these fabric bags to customers to keep and reuse. You have probably seen white, green, black, dyed and printed shopping bags at your favourite supermarket.

Waterproof membranes – This is another major market for Romatex stitch-bonded non-woven material. Waterproof membranes are used in the construction industry to seal roofs and walls.

Home textiles – Stitch-bonded non-woven material is also used in various home textiles, from mattresses and furniture to curtains and carpets. It’s a lightweight and eco-friendly alternative to cotton and other fabrics.

Footwear – This textile is used in the manufacturing of shoes, as an internal layer.

Vertical blinds – Next time you’re in an office or home with vertical window blinds, take a closer look at the material. This textile is commonly used to manufacture flexible window blinds in various colours. However, offices most often use beige or dark grey blinds which are part of our range.

Eco-blocks – Stitch-bonded non-woven material can be used to make eco-blocks for housing and construction. It’s the perfect solution to turn plastic waste into permanent and affordable building materials. The fabric can be filled with sand or other materials to create strong bricks.

Romatex supplies stitch-bonded non-woven material to various industries in South Africa. In the last year alone, we have turned 54-million plastic bottles into this eco-friendly textile. As more uses are created, stitch-bonded non-woven material is set to become a more versatile and beneficial textile. ALL ABOUT MATTRESS PROTECTORS
Brought to You by Romatex Bedding and Linen Factory Shop

Why you should include mattress protectors in your bed linen purchase.

When it comes to creating the perfect sleep environment, we often focus on selecting high-quality bed linen. However, one essential item that is often overlooked is mattress protectors. These bedding elements offer numerous advantages in terms of comfort and extending the lifespan of your mattress.

When it comes to purchasing mattress protectors, Romatex is a leading South African manufacturer that offers superior quality and value for money. Our mattress protectors are produced to high standards at our state-of-the-art factory in Cape Town. We also place a strong emphasis on quality and customer service.

THE ADVANTAGES OF MATTRESS PROTECTORS

Mattress protectors play a crucial role in ensuring a comfortable and hygienic sleep environment. There are several key advantages of including mattress protectors in your bed linen purchase. Firstly, they offer protection against stains and spills by acting as a barrier between your mattress and liquids. They safeguard your mattress, keeping it clean and fresh.

Next, they provide protection against dust mites and other microscopic critters. Mattresses can harbour dust mites that can trigger allergies and cause respiratory issues. Mattress protectors create a protective barrier against these tiny bugs and minimise the risk of allergies. All in all, this creates a healthier sleep environment.

Mattress protectors also offer hygienic benefits. They are easy to remove and wash, making them more hygienic than washing the mattress itself. Regularly washing the protector prevents the accumulation of allergens, bacteria and odours, ensuring a cleaner and healthier sleeping surface.

Lastly and most importantly, mattress protectors extend the lifespan of your mattress. Investing in a good quality mattress is a significant purchase and a mattress protector can help to protect this investment for longer. By providing an extra layer of protection, mattress protectors help preserve the quality and longevity of your mattress.

TYPES OF MATTRESS PROTECTORS

There are two main types available from Romatex, each offering unique benefits:

Quilted waterproof mattress protectors – As the name suggests, waterproof mattress protectors are designed to protect your mattress from liquid spills and stains. These protectors are made from a waterproof material such as polyurethane, which creates a reliable barrier against fluids. Waterproof mattress protectors are particularly useful for households with young children, pets, or anyone prone to accidents.

Quilted microfibre mattress protectors – Microfibre mattress protectors are made from a blend of polyester and polyamide fibres. They provide a comfortable sleep surface while still safeguarding against dust mites and spills. Microfibre mattress protectors are a versatile option suitable for various sleep preferences.

If you’re looking at buying mattress protectors, it is essential to prioritise quality and manufacturing standards. Look for ones that are hypoallergenic, ensuring they are free from harmful substances and safe for individuals with sensitivities, as well as breathable. Quality mattress protectors should promote airflow and temperature regulation, allowing for a comfortable sleep experience.

Also look for protectors that have a secure and adjustable fit, ensuring they stay in place and do not affect the comfort of your mattress. Mattress protectors made from high-quality materials and with sturdy construction will ensure long-lasting use.

WHY CHOOSE ROMATEX?

For premium mattress protectors in South Africa, Romatex is a brand you can trust. We take pride in offering mattress protectors that are crafted with the highest quality materials and attention to detail. You can rest assured that your investment will provide long-lasting protection for your mattress.

Romatex allows you to conveniently shop for mattress protectors online or through its factory store in Cape Town, making it simple to find the perfect mattress protector for your bed. These bedding elements are a valuable addition to your bed linen purchase, offering comfort, protection and extending the lifespan of your mattress. ROMATEX AND THE HOSPITALITY SECTOR
Brought to You by Romatex Bedding and Linen Factory Shop

Romatex an important supplier for South African hospitality sector.

The South African hospitality industry is on a major growth drive since the global pandemic nearly decimated the entire sector. Every hotel, bed and breakfast, lodge and guest house is looking for ways to improve their services and facilities in order to entice tourists and local guests. It is a highly competitive sector, so the right local suppliers are needed.

Romatex plays a vital role in the South African hospitality supply chain. As a leading manufacturer and supplier of stitch-bonded non-woven material and other textiles for the hospitality sector, Romatex can ensure world-class linens for your guests. The company has made a string of investments in its facilities and machinery in recent years.

We supply various textiles and bedding to boutique hotels, lodges and guest houses throughout the country. These include customised linens, such as duvets, sheets, pillowcases and mattress protectors. Romatex has over 50 years of experience in the industry and a proven track record of quality and reliability, ensuring that our customers receive world-class textiles on time.

OUR PRODUCTS FOR THE HOSPITALITY SECTOR

Romatex products are either 100% cotton or a 50/50 blend, depending on the needs of the customer. We pride ourselves on our quality and ability to meet customer expectations timeously. We understand the rigorous quality requirements of the hospitality sector as guest comfort takes precedence.

What we do not manufacture, we can source, both locally and globally. These additional products include towels, gowns, slippers and blankets – all essential components of a comfortable stay. Romatex holds SABS ISO 9001 certification for quality management which guarantees consistency and attention to detail.

WHY CHOOSE A LOCAL SUPPLIER?

For many lodges and BnBs, linens and homeware are crucial points of consideration. While imported textiles and bedding are an option, they are often prone to delays due to international shipping and slow processing at ports. It also comes with the risk of not being able to hold and feel the products in your hands before purchasing.

In this regard, a local supplier will drastically improve lead times and it will also give you the opportunity to see the products yourself. As the textiles and homeware are shipped from within South Africa, hospitality companies can expect delivery within a matter of days or weeks. In addition, Romatex can customise certain textiles to meet your individual needs and specifications.

Procurement managers are welcome to visit our factory store and manufacturing facility in Cape Town to see what we have to offer. This allows you to touch, hold and feel the linens before making a decision to purchase. It will also allow you to see exactly what your guests will be sleeping on, wearing or using during their stay.

SUPPLYING SOUTH AFRICAN HOSPITALITY COMPANIES FOR YEARS

Romatex has 50 years of experience in the textile manufacturing industry and we established a dedicated division for the hospitality sector in 2013. We have created a reputation for providing affordable products, without compromising on quality.

We understand that each hotel and lodge has its own requirements, so we aim to provide you with everything you need to run your business efficiently and profitably. This includes reduced lead times on orders and textiles that will meet your expectations.

If you need textiles or linens for your property, then consider Romatex as your local partner and supplier. Our head office and manufacturing facility are in Cape Town, but we also have branches in Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal and the Free State. FINDING THE BEST FIT FOR YOUR SLEEP
Brought to You by Romatex Bedding and Linen Factory Shop

Duvets and pillows are two key homeware items that determine how well you sleep. They provide not only comfort and warmth but also proper support for a restful and rejuvenating night. Investing in high-quality pillows and duvets is essential to ensure a healthy mind and body.

Romatex is a leading South African manufacturer of high-quality duvets and pillows for homes and hospitality companies. Our homeware products are produced to world-class standards at our mechanised factory in Cape Town. We value quality and customer service, so for the best selection of pillows and duvets, consider Romatex.

WHY DUVETS AND PILLOWS MATTER

These bedding items offer numerous advantages for comfort and a good night’s sleep. They provide the necessary comfort and support for your head, neck and entire body while you dream away. A well-made pillow keeps your head and neck aligned, reducing the risk of discomfort or strain.

A good duvet ensures the right amount of warmth and insulation for a comfortable temperature throughout the night. Duvets also play a crucial role in regulating your body temperature. They help keep you warm in colder months and cool during warmer seasons. A duvet with proper insulation and breathability promotes a comfortable and balanced sleep environment.

TYPES OF FILLERS FOR DUVETS AND PILLOWS

At Romatex, we use three types of fillers for our duvets and pillows. These offer varying levels of comfort, support and insulation:

Recycled hollow fibres – Duvets and pillows with recycled hollow fibre fillers are an eco-friendly option. These fibres are often made from recycled plastic bottles and provide good insulation and loft while remaining hypoallergenic and lightweight.

Fibre puff balls – Fibre puff balls offer a soft and fluffy feel, making them ideal for those who prefer a plush and luxurious sleep experience. They are durable, lightweight and hypoallergenic, providing a comfortable and supportive sleep surface.

Microfibre – These fillers are made from synthetic materials that mimic the texture and loft of natural duck-down feathers. They offer excellent insulation, breathability and softness, making them a popular choice for those seeking a hypoallergenic and cruelty-free alternative to down.

OUTER CASING OPTIONS

Outer casings play a crucial role in protecting the fillers and enhancing the overall sleeping experience. Romatex offers three types of outer casings:

100% cotton percale down proof – These casings are breathable, durable and down-proof. They prevent the feathers or fillers from poking through while allowing air to flow for a comfortable sleep temperature.

50/50 polycotton percale – Polycotton percale casings offer a blend of durability and affordability. They are a popular choice for those seeking a balance between comfort, quality and cost-effectiveness.

Microfibre – Once again, these casings are a synthetic alternative to cotton percale. They offer a soft and smooth feel with excellent hypoallergenic properties. Microfibre casings are easy to care for and provide a comfortable sleeping surface.

When it comes to selecting pillows and duvets, quality and manufacturing standards are paramount. Ensure that these bedding items are hypoallergenic and free from harmful substances. Quality products go through rigorous testing to meet safety standards, providing peace of mind and a healthy sleep environment.

Romatex implements strict quality control measures in the manufacturing processes. Attention to detail, mechanised production and durable construction ensure that our pillows and duvets will withstand years of use. When it comes to finding the perfect bedding for your needs, Romatex is a smart choice.

You can conveniently browse and purchase Romatex products online or visit our factory store in Cape Town for an affordable shopping experience. Your sleep needs will be met with exceptional comfort, superior quality craftsmanship and reliable customer service. ALL ABOUT COTTON BED LINEN
Brought to You by Romatex Bedding and Linen Factory Shop

Cotton is the most popular material for bed linen due to its softness, breathability and durability. There are two main types of cotton used in our bed linen: 100% cotton percale, which refers to a type of weave characterised by a tight, one-over-one-under pattern. 100% cotton percale is known for its crispness, comfort and breathability, making it ideal for those who enjoy cool and lightweight bedding.

The second type of cotton is a blend. Our easy-care polycotton blends combine cotton and polyester fibres to create bed linen that is easy to care for and less prone to wrinkles. These blends offer a balance between natural comfort and low-maintenance upkeep. The choice between 100% cotton percale and polycotton blends ultimately depends on personal preference and desired level of maintenance.

LINEN AND BEDDING TERMINOLOGY
Brought to You by Romatex Bedding and Linen Factory Shop

THREAD COUNT

Thread count is the number of yarns woven into one square inch (approximately 2.5cm2) of fabric. This number is based on the threads woven horizontally ("weft") and vertically ("warp"). When buying sheets, don't be tempted by high thread counts (200 to 400 is perfect, very soft and beautiful). Some manufacturers use a method called double insertion, in which two or four threads are twisted together before weaving. This produces more threads per inch but makes the fabric denser and heavier. This is why the idea that high counts equal better quality isn't really accurate.

FABRICS/FIBRES:
Microfibre - 100% Polyester
is soft, smooth and highly durable. It’s a great choice for bedding since it’s wrinkle-resistant, quick drying, machine washable and requires minimal ironing. Microfibre is also great for allergy sufferers.

Polycotton is made from yarns which are a blend of polyester and cotton that is easy care wrinkle-resistant, durable (polyester lasts longer than cotton), and relatively inexpensive (up to half the cost of pure cotton).

100% cotton is lightweight, soft and breathable, meaning it keeps warm during cold seasons and stays cool in the summer. You'll hardly ever wake up clammy on cotton sheets, since the fibre absorbs moisture away from your skin. Cotton sheets are less likely to stain than polyester blends; as a water-loving fibre, cotton releases dirt easily when wet. The negative on cotton is that it wrinkles easily so needs ironing.

Egyptian cotton is ideal because since it’s produced from longer fibres, when you spin the yarn it gives it strength. The long fibres give a more luxurious feel to the fabric and it’s also highly absorbent material.

Weave: The weave affects the way a sheet feels, the way it looks, its longevity, and its price.

Percale is a balanced weave, 180 thread count or higher and is, sort of like a basket weave. It is known for its longevity and cool feel. It's also less likely to pill than cotton sateen because it has a denser weave. It is less expensive than sateen and is more durable and feels crisper.

Sateen is cotton cloth made with a satin weave, a weave that has more vertical than horizontal yarns. The higher proportion of vertical threads results in an extremely soft fabric that is a little warmer than percale, but one that is more apt to pill and tear than a plain weave. It’s a weave that produces a very soft, lustrous feel but can be somewhat less durable than a denser weave.

Jacquards are intricate weaves; it feels textured due to pattern alternating from satiny soft to coarser and nubby. They can be as durable as plain weaves, but they are made on special looms and are considerably more expensive.

DUVET COVER SETS
Different styles:
Standard
Oxford straight stitch

Closing:
Normally studs
Buttons (specialty fabrics, T400 and above)
50cm flap closing _ This is used in hospitality instead of buttons or studs due to use of industrial laundry and ease when changing bedding.

FITTED SHEETS
Elasticated all the way round

Depth: 30 or 35cm. For a proper fit, the depth of the fitted sheet should be 3 to 5cm deeper than the depth of the mattress. This will allow a little extra for tucking under the mattress, yet not so much that it causes wrinkling and bunching in the sleep surface.

MATTRESS PROTECTORS
A mattress protector is made with an elasticized edge (effectively a fitted sheet) that hugs your mattress in order to protect it from allergy-causing dust. A mattress protector also prevents the mattress from absorbing perspiration, which may cause it to deteriorate more quickly.

Quilted: The quilted mattress protector is made from microfibre fabric with a polyester filling for maximum comfort. It is also moisture absorbent; breathable and fully machine washable.

Terry towelling is a type of knitted fabric with a plush texture that is soft to the touch and has highly absorbent qualities.

The cotton inners can also be used in winter as a “blanket” to lay over the top of a standard duvet to give that extra bit of warmth that is needed on those really cold nights.
Features:
Quilted 100% cotton
100% cotton percale casing
Advantages:
Breathability ensures sleeping comfort on warm summer nights.
Thread Count

Simply put, thread count is the number of threads woven into one square inch (approximately 2.5cm2) of fabric. This number is based on the threads woven horizontally ("weft") and vertically ("warp"). Extra threads can also be woven into the weft threads to increase the thread count. These added threads are called "picks" and are added in the overall count, which is how some sheets end up having thread counts in the thousands.

Generally, the higher the thread count, the softer the sheet, and the more likely it will wear well, or even soften, over time. Good sheets range anywhere from 200 to 800, although you will occasionally see numbers over 1000.

OXFORD SATIN STITCH DUVET COVER SET

200 Thread count 100% cotton percale

The oxford border adds a crisp finish to the duvet cover set. The colour accent added by the satin stitch elevates the classic look. Perfect plain design to bring sophistication into your bedroom.

Bed linen made from 100% cotton is highly durable and will retain its luxurious feel wash after wash. The pure and natural nature of cotton will keep you cool in summer and warm in winter.

HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT BED LINEN FOR YOUR NEEDS
Brought to You by Romatex Bedding and Linen Factory Shop

Choosing the right bed linen is crucial when it comes to creating a comfortable and inviting bedroom. These textiles not only enhance the aesthetic appeal of the room but also play a significant role in ensuring a good night’s sleep.

Romatex is a leading textile manufacturer and supplier of bed linen in South Africa. These textiles are manufactured to high standards at our facility in Cape Town. We place a strong emphasis on quality and customer service. As such, Romatex is your go-to destination for high-quality bed linen.

TYPES OF BED LINEN PRODUCED AT ROMATEX

Bed linen encompasses a range of items, including fitted sheets, flat sheets, pillowcases, and duvet covers. Each of these items serves a specific purpose and contributes to the overall comfort of your bed.

Fitted sheets – These come with elasticised corners that fit snugly over your mattress, ensuring a smooth and wrinkle-free surface to lie on.

Flat sheets – These are placed on top of the fitted sheet and provide an extra layer of comfort. They can also be used as a lightweight covering during warmer nights.

Pillowcases – These cover and protect your pillows, keeping them clean and extending their lifespan. They come in various sizes and styles to match your bedding.

Duvet covers – These encase your duvet, offering both protection and aesthetic value. They come in a wide range of designs and can be easily changed to match your decor.

THE IMPORTANCE OF THREAD COUNT

Thread count refers to the number of threads woven into one square inch of fabric. It is an essential factor to consider when choosing bed linen as it directly affects the quality and comfort of the fabric. Generally, a higher thread count indicates a finer and smoother fabric.

Romatex manufactures 200 thread count bed linen, which is considered high-quality and provides a luxurious feel. However, it’s important to note that the optimal thread count for comfort may vary depending on personal preference.

TYPES OF COTTON USED IN BED LINEN

Cotton is the most popular material for bed linen due to its softness, breathability and durability. There are two main types of cotton used in our bed linen: 100% cotton percale, which refers to a type of weave characterised by a tight, one-over-one-under pattern. 100% cotton percale is known for its crispness, comfort and breathability, making it ideal for those who enjoy cool and lightweight bedding.

The second type of cotton is a blend. Our easy care polycotton blends combine cotton and polyester fibres to create bed linen that is easy to care for and less prone to wrinkles. These blends offer a balance between natural comfort and low-maintenance upkeep. The choice between 100% cotton percale and polycotton blends ultimately depends on personal preference and desired level of maintenance.
